Indication of malpractice, the daughter of the Chairperson of the West Java PWRI DPD dies, after undergoing treatment at the Bogor BSH Hospital

Bogor West Java(ANN) – The daughter of the Chairperson of the Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Journalists’ Association (DPD PWRI) West Java Province, H. Hermawan, died after undergoing treatment at the Bogor Senior Hospital, where the BSH Hospital was strongly suspected of having committed malpractice.

H. Hermawan revealed, his daughter’s condition worsened after being given fluids in 2-3 stages. Which one (1) dose is 500 CC for 3 (three) times of fluid administration with 1500 cc, according to the doctor’s statement, dr. Analyst, Sp.A.
However, when the fluid was inserted, there was no catheter insertion to control the incoming or outgoing fluid, so maximum observation could not be made, strangely the catheter was not installed on the patient but the BSH Hospital collects payments to the patient’s family, and the patient’s family pays the bill.

“ September 23, 2022, around 07.00, dr. Analyst, Sp.A, visited and said that my child’s platelets had decreased. I said that at night my son was cold, the fever had gone down, and he was eating and drinking less. Then the nurse checked my son’s pulse, and it looked around 123. I asked if it was normal? The nurse replied normally. At around 12.00, I saw my child’s fingertips were orange, then the nurse checked my child’s pulse at around 144. Then came dr. It was Metta who informed that my son had to add fluids. Then the liquid is added in two stages with different types. Then do a blood check, put another second fluid. When the fluid is inserted, there is no catheter insertion to control the fluid that goes in and out,” said Hermawan.
Hermawan added that after all the fluids had been put in, his son had an X-ray. Then dr. Metta suggested that her child should be referred to Medistra Hospital in Jakarta, because he needed PICU care, not ICU or HCU.
“Then my child was taken to the ICU room at BSH Hospital, when I arrived at the ICU my child felt extreme cold and his lips turned blue, according to the nurse’s statement, my child was in severe shock. At that time there were doctors on duty and several nurses, not pediatricians, it was just discovered at that time that doctor A was not a doctor who STAYs at the BSH Hospital. When my child was extremely cold, the hospital only gave him blankets and hot water compresses and an electric heater that didn’t work. There is no provision of any action and medication,” he explained to relieve the shock.
“After the extreme cold, my child was short of breath and the BSH Hospital only gave oxygen from 14.00 to 18.30, without any action, even though my child was short of breath and cold with a pulse of around 160m-161 , until my child was taken to the PMI Hospital, ” he said.
However, continued Hermawan, when he arrived at the PMI Hospital at around 19:00, his son’s pulse was around 168.
“After the doctor examined my child, an intravenous drip and catheter were placed by flushing. In the ER at PMI Hospital, my son’s pulse continued to rise to 200, then he was taken to the PMI ICU and put on a ventilator. After being put on a ventilator, I was called to see my child, and it turns out that my child has been declared dead,” and even worse was referred to the PMI Bogor Hospital without BSH Hospital confirming to the Bogor PMI Hospital whether the Bogor PMI Hospital had a PICU room or not, because the child I had to go to the PICU room, it turns out that the PMI Bogor Hospital does not have a PICU room, why was my child referred to the Bogor PMI Hospital which does not have a PICU room, thus causing my child to die. So it turns out that the Bogor BSH Hospital was very negligent in handling my child and was unprofessional,” he said.
Then, continued Hermawan, on September 26, 2022, at around 14.00 WIB, Hermawan and his family came to BSH Hospital to ask for clarification and tabayun.
The hospital who came was dr. Analyst Sp.A, head nurse and 2 members of the BSH Hospital management team. From the results of the clarification, it was found that there were allegations of medical errors that were not appropriate as they should be.
“When my son’s pulse was 144, the hospital gave him fluid loading, but after fluid loading, my son’s pulse didn’t go down, but instead continued to rise to 160 – 161 and even continued to rise to 200 at PMI, until my son died. However, according to dr. Analyst Sp.A, for a child’s age, the normal pulse is 80-100 and not more than 120, so a pulse of 120-130 and above is not normal. When the pulse is abnormal, fluid loading and catheter placement are given to control fluid in and out.
The hospital, said Hermawan, did not inform him of a referral to another hospital if the patient’s condition was critical.

“When my child entered the BSH Hospital, his condition was still very healthy and not critical. However, the BSH Hospital did not provide comprehensive information regarding referrals that are the patient’s right to obtain correct information. PICU, my child was referred to PMI and it turns out that PMI doesn’t even have a PICU,” said Hermawan
“My child was not placed in a catheter during fluid loading to control the fluid in and out until my child suffered from extreme cold and severe shortness of breath and my child’s lungs were filled with fluid based on the X-ray results. In addition, there is no thoroughness and strict control of critical patients.” Obviously Hermawan.
The media crew who are members of PWRI, when confirming this case, did not receive a clear answer from the BSH Hospital.
Dr. Analysa, Sp.A, who handled the patient, who was supposed to be giving an explanation in the clarification was not present, but was only attended by a lawyer who when showing the Power of Attorney did not use the letterhead of the attorney’s office or the letterhead of the BSH Hospital whose validity was in doubt , and a number of nurses and representatives of BSH Hospital management.
H. Hermawan, always explained in his statement that the victim had previously sent a notification letter to the Bogor Police and copied it to the BSH Hospital and the BSH Hospital Analyst doctor and not the request letter meant by the BSH Hospital lawyer. give today’s time (Monday, 03/10/2022).
“Our arrival was at the time given by the management of the BSH Hospital and we came only to clarify and ask for the right to answer, especially from the doctor who treated my child. A (child specialist), that during his medical procedure he did not put a catheter in my child. This is a clear confession and explanation from Dr. A and we have recorded evidence,” said H. Hermawan.
He further said that he regretted that there was no good faith from the hospital. BSH especially from dr. A because until we came or a week after the death of his daughter, there was never the slightest word as a form of moral responsibility.
“Until a week after my daughter died, my family and I have never once received condolences as a form of moral responsibility. I emphasize that we can assess the moral level of the hospital management. BSH especially from the doctor who treated my daughter, dr. A” , added the Chairperson of the West Java PWRI DPD, even when my child was catheterized at the PMI Hospital in Bogor, the BSH Hospital sent the circuit to bill me as the patient’s parent what was billed for the difference in payment that was not covered by insurance and it was paid directly in cash. cash by the patient’s parents to patients whose BSH Hospital does not have a sense of tolerance and humanity even though the patient’s insurance limit is billions per year.
Still according to H. Hermawan in his press statement after being received by the hospital management. BSH regretted the action taken by the hospital, which was only accepted by its attorney and several other management representatives. While dr. A did not appear to be present at the meeting.
“Today we, the West Java PWRI extended family, have shown good faith by previously taking normative procedures that are mandatory for us. And this time we have shown that we as journalists who are members of the Association of Indonesian Journalists in West Java have shown to the public that we are dignified journalists. Even though we are very sad and lost, “explained H. Hermawan who is also the biological father of his daughter who died.
H. Hermawan emphasized that he was very disappointed with the attitude shown by the hospital management. BSH especially the pediatrician who treats my child, dr. A. However, as law-abiding citizens, we still adhere to the principle of the presumption of innocence.
“The meeting was deadlocked because it was impossible for us to continue without Dr. A. Because from the start we just wanted to get an explanation in question, even though we had previously pocketed a recording of a confession that we had taken actions that were not in accordance with medical measures. Obviously we are disappointed with all of this,” said the Chairman of the West Java PWRI DPD.
When asked about the legal steps to be taken, Hermawan said that his party would take legal steps if the BSH Hospital did not have the good faith to resolve this issue.

Still in the same place, the Secretary General of the PWRI DPP, Jagad who accompanied H. Hermawan added that we will take the next step after today’s meeting is deadlocked because the hospital. BSH could not present dr. A though to provide an explanation for the actions he has taken.
“Thank you, my brothers and sisters, PWRI journalists in West Java who have been polite even though we lost a lot and we PWRI’s big family in West Java have shown that we are dignified journalists. As for the next step, there is no good faith from the hospital. BSH, wait for instructions and we will jointly oversee this matter until it is finished,” said the Secretary General of the PWRI DPP.
At the end of his statement, D. Supiyanto Jagad conveyed his condolences in particular to Mr. H. Hermawan, Chairman of the West Java PWRI DPD, for the death of his daughter.
“We are the Big Family of the Republic of Indonesia Journalists Association (PWRI) very much lost and grieving, and we must together make sure, guard it to the end,” concluded Jagad.
