Jakarta (ANN) – One of the Lampung youths, Bima Yudho Saputro who is currently completing his studies in Australia, criticized the Lampung Provincial Government, regarding the poor infrastructure in Lampung.

This criticism was conveyed by Bima through the TikTok account @Awbimax Reborn. Bima criticized Lampung for not getting ahead.

Bima’s criticism also went viral and reaped various comments. As a result of this criticism, it is reported that the Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi, was also inflamed.

Responding to this, the Chairman of the Central Leadership Council of the Association of Indonesian Journalists [DPP PWRI] Dr. Suriyanto PD, SH, M.Kn, reminded officials not to be allergic to criticism.

According to Suriyanto, Bima’s criticism does not need to be treated excessively.

“The official should not be allergic to criticism, especially if you see that the substance of Bima’s criticism is good. Should make introspection local officials to improve themselves. This criticism is a form of expression for young people who have a sense of love and care for their region,” Suriyanto told media crew in Jakarta, Monday [17/4/2023].

“Give a proportional answer and make criticism to improve performance. Officials at any level should not be allergic to suggestions and criticism from the public, but must respond quickly and provide correct and accurate information so that the public can understand what the government is doing to protect the community. For this reason, structural officials must be able to describe leadership policies in an effort to respond to every expectation and desire of the community according to their main duties, functions and capacities,” said Suriyanto.

Suriyanto added, public information disclosure is one of the parameters of the success of public services for government administrators. Public participation in providing input and criticism can also be used as a basis for policy makers in determining the direction of government.

“Ready or not ready, if officials are faced with various criticisms from any party, respond responsively by innovating so that people feel the impact. Don’t even respond reactively so as to cause chaos,” he said. [ jgd/red ]
