JAKARTA (ANN) – After successfully organizing the G20 Presidency, Indonesia is again exercising international leadership by holding the chairmanship of ASEAN 2023. The chairmanship was handed over from Cambodia to Indonesia at the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Phnom Penh in November 2022.

Indonesia is once again entrusted with hosting the 42nd ASEAN Summit to be held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara from May 9 to 11, 2023.
Chairperson of the Indonesai Terang [Pinter] Party Dr. Hj. Rizayati, SH, MM said, the Asean Summit event could be a momentum to show Indonesia’s leadership in the international world, in addition to fighting for the interests of developing countries, especially in the ASEAN region.

“It is a great honor for our nation to be able to bring the leaders of friendly countries to this ASEAN Summit. The benefits of the 42nd ASEAN Summit event for Indonesia will bring benefits both in the economic field and at the regional and global levels. We must support this event,” said Rizayati through a statement in Jakarta, Thursday [4/5/2023].

“In the economic field, the Asean Summit is predicted to boost the national economy in a number of cities in Indonesia. The organization of the 2023 Asean Summit is a momentum to show the progress of Indonesia’s development, and to attract foreign investment to the country,” she said.

Meanwhile, for regional and global coverage, Indonesia can get world recognition for Indonesia’s ability to lead regional architecture through the management of intra-Asean economic cooperation and regional partners.
“This is also a milestone for strengthening economic recovery, and making Southeast Asia a sustainable world economic driver,” he said.
