Bawaslu Allows PRIMA Party to Fix Election Requirements Documents

 

 

Jakarta (ANN) | The Election Supervisory Council (Bawaslu) held a trial on the decision on the administrative verification lawsuit for the candidates for the 2024 General Election. The Prima Party was the applicant, meanwhile the KPU was the respondent.

The trial was chaired by the chairman of the examining board as well as the chairman of the Indonesian Election Supervisory Coumcil (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja and members of the Puadi assembly, Totok Hariyono and Lolly Suhenti. In this trial, the Examining Council decided to accept the application of some of the applicants.

“Cancelled the official report of KPU No. 232/PL.01.1-BA/05/2022 regarding the recapitulation of the administrative verification results of political parties participating in the election on October 13, 2022,” said Bagja in a verdict hearing at the RI Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Council) Office, Central Jakarta, Friday (4/11). /2022

The Tribunal decided to partially grant the petitioner’s request. The Assembly also asked the respondent to publish the minutes of the recapitulation of the administrative verification results of the political parties participating in the election in accordance with the results of the administrative verification of improvements.

Then, the examining board ordered the respondent to give the applicant the opportunity to submit the required documents for 24 hours.

The Assembly also ordered the respondent to inform the applicant no later than 1×24 hours before the implementation of the revision and submission of the required documents for the political parties participating in the election begins.

“Ordering the respondent to implement this decision no later than three working days after this decision was read out,” said Bagja.

“This was decided in the Bawaslu plenary meeting on Thursday, November 3, 2022,” he continued.

Prima Party Lawsuit

The Rakyat Adil Makmur Party (Prima) underwent its first trial of the administrative verification dispute over the candidates for the 2024 General Election at Bawaslu on Wednesday (26/10). Prima became the applicant and the KPU became the respondent.

The trial was chaired by the Chairman of the Examining Council as well as the Chairperson of the Indonesian Election Supervisory council (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja and members of the Puadi assembly and Totok Hariyono. The trial was held after mediation between the KPU and Prima failed.

“Among the 14 types of documents contained in the official report number: 232/PL.01.1-BA/05/2022, Sub Attachment XXIV.2.MODEL BA.REKAP.VERMIN.KPU-PARPOL concerning Administrative Verification Results of Requirements for Candidate Political Parties Election contestants published by the KPU RI on October 13, 2022 for PRIMA, six of them were declared MS (qualified) and eight of them were declared TMS (not eligible) which caused PRIMA to be declared TMS in Sub-Appendix XXIV.1.MODEL.BA. REKAP.VERMIN.KPU-PARPOL,” said the Prima Party’s Legal Counsel Team when reading the lawsuit in a trial at the RI Bawaslu Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (26/10).

“However, after being carefully traced and examined through other sub-appendices, among the seven types of documents stated by TMS, it turns out that all of them are MS,” he continued.

Prima asked Bawaslu to accept all of his requests. They asked that the official report on the verification results published by the KPU was declared null and void.
