Allegedly Corruption, Aceh High Prosecutor’s Office (Kajati) Targets Langsa Mangrove Tower Project Inaugurated by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia (Menparekraf)

Banda Aceh (ANN)| The head of the Aceh High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) is currently investigating the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Langsa Mangrove Forest Park or towers in the Mangrove forest in Langsa City, Aceh Province.

Interestingly, this case emerged after the Langsa Mangrove Forest Park Tower was inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno on Friday, April 15, 2022.

The case was discovered after the Head of the Aceh Attorney General’s Office, Bambang Bachtiar, conveyed the prosecutor’s performance achievements during January-July 2022 in a press conference at the Aceh Attorney General’s Office, Friday (22/7/2022).

The alleged case of the Langsa Manggrove Tower is still in the investigation stage, said Head Prosecutor Officer (Kajati) of Aceh Bambang accompanied by assistants, the Head of the TU, and other officials.

The Assistant for Special Crimes (Apidsus) of the Aceh Attorney General’s Office, Raharjo Yusuf Wibisono, generally explained that the case was currently only entering the investigation stage, he said.

He admitted that his party handled the case after receiving complaints from the people of Langsa City on reports in general that the construction was not in accordance with the contract, he said.

“There are reports of public complaints, we will review them and we will publish them and proceed. In a short time, we will call the relevant parties,” he said.

To note, the Langsa Mangrove Forest Park Tower is currently a new tourism icon in Aceh, especially in Langsa City.

The tower has a height of 46 meters and 7 levels. The tower is located in a mangrove forest area of 8,000 hectares. This building is one of the brilliant programs of the Mayor of Langsa, Tgk Usman Abdullah, who is often called Toke Seum. (Fadly P.B/PO)
