Jakarta (ANN) – Indonesia consists of many islands, with diverse cultures, languages, races, ethnicity, and local traditions and customs that are also different. However, these differences make them separate from each other, but rather unite and unite in the house of the Indonesian nation.

One of the most dominant Indonesian identities from the past until now is Diversity, or diversity. The identity was not formed in a short time, but a long historical dialogue from generation to generation, and continues to exist from the past until now.

Bhineka Tunggal Ika, which has different meanings but remains one, is the motto of the Indonesian nation today, and in the future, which has also been proven in previous times.
In the midst of the threat of disintegration facing the Indonesian people, efforts are needed to continuously maintain this diversity. For that, there is nothing wrong if we look at the lives of people in islands or remote areas in this country who can care for and maintain diversity.

Race, ethnicity, religion, and culture do not cause distinct differences, but instead strengthen social harmony. Sociologically and culturally, Indonesian society is indeed a plural society that has great potential for the emergence of conflict and division, if it is not based on multiculturalism.

For the Indonesian people, multiculturalism is a necessity and a must. The diversity of race, ethnicity, language, culture, and religion is a characteristic and advantage of a nation that distinguishes it from other nations.

However, recently there has been a tendency of some citizens and community groups to deny the multicultural nature that has been inherent in the Indonesian nation for hundreds of years. This has caused the Indonesian people to be faced with a troubling situation, namely the threat of national disintegration.

The Indonesian nation, which consists of various ethnic groups, religions, races, cultures, and languages, has always had an attitude of mutual respect. This has been proven by the birth of the Youth Pledge on October 28, 1928. However, at this time the Indonesian nation is being tested for its maturity and diversity with the rise of cases of intolerance and various SARA cases. One of the glues of nationalism is diversity. Unfortunately, the motto of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, which was glorified and echoed by the founding fathers of the nation, did not work and began to fade.

Difference is a diversity, all we can do is accept the difference and use it as part of life. The difference is not that we overcome conflict but as much as possible we help reject the power to build a harmonious, peaceful and tolerant life. So that peace in the world can really be realized.

Indonesia is a country that has a lot of diversity, such as ethnicity, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, and customs in it. The differences that the Indonesian people have are actually a priceless national asset. This is because not many countries have it.

One way to maintain and care for diverse differences is with Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, (different but still one) is the motto of the Indonesian state which is used as the basis for realizing the unity and integrity of the Indonesian state which we must apply in everyday life. , namely by mutual respect for each other. Therefore, as the people of Indonesia, we must maintain the integrity of togetherness in building a pluralistic unitary state.

Indonesia with the presence of a pluralistic society consisting of various different ethnic groups under the auspices of a national system consisting of several governments that carry out a process of forming Indonesian society without distinguishing cultural, linguistic, religious, ethnic, or social strata diversity in order to realize the goal. a country, namely as intended in Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

Bhinneka Tunggal Ika has a very important role for Indonesia, one of which is used as a unifies of the nation in order to improve the status of the Indonesian state. Then one of the efforts that must be taken is to increase awareness of the mindset of the Indonesian people to use their constitutional rights in gathering and association, and also encouraging people to use religion more as the basis of life in association which also states that God is the purpose of life as stated in the religion in which it is stated. every individual in society.

As the times progressed, the practice of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika became increasingly dim. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is enough to only be a motto or concept of developing a country, there needs to be a new way that is more adapted to life today. One way that can be done is by holding an event, the event is one step for how people can interpret and practice Bhineka Tunggal Ika by actively participating in an event.

For example holding festivals in various regions by showing the culture of each region. Thus, the public is again aware of the diversity of regional cultures in Indonesia that need to be preserved and how valuable these cultures are. The celebration aims to build intimacy and togetherness in the midst of differences between communities.

Every country must have certain rules, as well as the State of Indonesia. Which has various rules that regulate every individual in society, so it is proper for us to maintain the integrity of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika by obeying the regulations stipulated in the State of Indonesia.

Therefore, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika must be kept intact because it is recognized that Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is so important for Indonesia, it is our duty as the people of Indonesia to maintain it. The integrity of a region is the main strength in the state, discussing with mutual respect for each other because it is true that the State of Indonesia contains various differences in it, therefore mutual respect is the foundation of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

Thus, maintaining, interpreting, spreading and practicing Bhineka Tunggal Ika is the obligation of all of us so that harmony can truly be realized in Indonesia.
